The primary goal of this project was to celebrate diversity by promoting the inclusion of persons with disabilities in cultural activities. The reason being that one’s participation in his or her cultural festivities enhances one’s self-esteem and worth. More importantly, while on the one hand, cultural disfranchisement is the first step towards dehumanization. Cultural inclusion is the critical ingredient for normalization, especially for marginalized communities. Therefore, the creation of opportunities through which persons with disabilities from ethnocultural communities can showcase their artistic and musical talents is essential if we are to embrace the true meaning of multiculturalism.
